I don't really think its none of your business. Sounds like a bunch of cry baby's in this chat room. Steve Heddy has done more for Flint than all of you combined.

Steve Heddy has given this community Thousands of Dollars. Him and his wife are part of Flint History. They go above and beyond, Steve is a trustful guy.

If he was trustworthy he would have voted his conscience and not his wallet. I have met him and his wife and like them both very much but this has me confused. It IS our business if there is a conflict of interest involved and if they are hosting a benefit for the FIM then that is a conflict. I want to support and feel proud of the FCCC but this issue has me feeling ashamed of them, especially when it is so unpopular with the community and they know how we all feel. My membership is up for renewal and I am not going to renew unless they change their mind about these precious houses. We need more people like the lady from Grand Blanc who wrote the Journal and said she was pulling her kids out of the FIM. That is probably the only way they will get the message. I have always talked up our Cultural Center and been so proud that we have such a resource here but now I am just embarrassed and can barely bring myself to visit or support any of it.

My parents are friends with Steve and Roseann Heddy, I am ashamed of Steve and Roseann. My father is boycotting the Open House at their home.
I think its very much a conflict of interest.

HE should of abstained

I know other members of the Heddy family that were brought up dedicating volunteer time to the community.

I propose a BOYCOTT of anything in the Cult-elistist Center until the demolition of Manning Court Houses are brought to a VOTE for the general public.

Boycott- FIM, FIA, Sloan Museum, Whiting and the Flint Public Library. Boyott the Planitarium.

I threw away my christmas program for the cultural center, maybe I should have kept it for a picket location itinerary.

Let's set up a pickett line during x-mas program?

any takers? petition signing?

I'll get on board Rapunzel. I am going to write "hell no" on my renewal notice and mail it back. I know quite a few people who are not renewing. The problem is that the big money is behind this. We need to start boycotting Koegels too.

I just talked to Ryan and he voted against it.
He was very pasoniate about those homes and the city of flint.
I told him I was impressed by his passion and drive.
He said we could write letters to the journal, Cultural Center Corp,
and call our City Councilman. He also encouraged me to make a donation
to the Ryan Eashoo Fund, to help promote historic preservation.
The fund is at the community foundation, make checks payable to
The Community Foundation, and in the tag line put Ryan Eashoo Fund.
He wants to promote historical interests, and start a legal fund so when things like this happen we can fight the ignorant people and save our history.

I just sent in a check for $100.00. I also am sending a letter to the Flint Journal and Uncommon Sense.

The Flint Cultural Center is a gem to our community. All the cultural institutes are offering amazing opportunities for children and adults, especially the Flint Institute of Music. The arts community seems to be the one positive thing that is growing in our community. Yes, it is sad to remove some historic homes to make way for future expansion of FIM, but to me it is more important to expose and give opportunity to a child, or adult, to the world of performing arts, expanding each one's horizon of cultural knowledge. Let's not inhibit their opportunity.

To anyone interested in protesting the Manning Court demolitions
at Historic District Commissioner Steve Heddy's fundraiser to raise
money for the Flint Institute of Music (that Heddy SHOULD have
abstained from voting on), the party will be held at Heddy's home,
1212 Woodlawn Park Drive in Flint. It will be from 11 am to 3 p.m.
on Sunday, december 3.
