DETROIT (WJBK) - The Detroit Police Department carried out 'Operation April Shower' Thursday evening.
FOX 2's Andrea Isom rode along. She reports 35 people were arrested. Thirteen of those arrests were felonies and 22 were for misdemeanors. Marijuana, crack, heroin and weapons were also taken off the street.
As usual, several neighbors came out of their houses and thanked Detroit Police Chief James Craig for the work of the department.
Chief Craig also caught up with Doug, the Detroit crime fighter who blasts suspects on social media. Chief Craig called him a "Detroit hero" and thanked him for his work.
"You know April showers do what?" Chief Craig asks Doug.
"Bring May flowers," Doug responds.
"That's right, and we're going to have a beautiful May," says Chief Craig. |

Where are the warrant sweeps that used to happen in Flint? They kept the jail pretty full. |

Residents complain they tell police about drug houses and other activities to no avail! Where are the special ops, gang unit and the drug units?
What officer will want to take a lateral move to be a detective with no extra pay, clothing allowance or other perks? If they are sent to be trained, who will pay? And if they take the training and experience, will they plan on staying?
Is this too much like the deal Williamson had with his special unit? Are we asking for law suits? |
