Some Burton City Officials have been under fire lately with allegations of bribery, but apparently it's not up for discussion at city council meetings. Former Burton City Council member Laurie Tinnin found that out the hard way on January 10th, when she commented about City Administrator Charles Skeeter Abby. That's when she was ordered to leave the meeting, and was escorted out by a police officer. Tinnin tells TV5 it was a very humiliating experience. Tinnin’s actions are being backed by the A.C.L.U., a national organization, who feels her right to free speech was violated in the meeting. We made attempts to contact Council President Danny Wells, but he did not return our calls.
