This time he's saying he has no intention to fire some of his top department heads as the council is demanding.
Just two days ago, the council sent the mayor a letter saying his appointment of the police and fire chief -- as well as the parks director -- was illegal because it wasn't approved by city council.
The council cited an opinion by the city attorney, backing up their position. And they demanded that the mayor stop the three from receiving salaries which council calls an illegal use of city funds.
The mayor reacted to their allegations for the first time Thursday.
"They asked me to fire all department heads in a letter. We'll go to court over that," said Flint Mayor Don Williamson.
"The city attorney did not make that ruling. She said some appointments I have to take to the council. But it didn't say when I had to take them. We'll stop the council's payroll before we'll stop anyone else's."
Council President Johnnie Coleman says if the mayor does not eliminate their salaries by Friday, the council will be going to court on Monday and for a judge to order their termination immediately.
The mayor is also lashing out at the city clerk, calling for a criminal investigation of the her office for what he calls tampering with the election process.
His move came just hours after the clerk asked the prosecutor for an investigation of the mayor over the same issue
