The City Council has again blocked a prominent church leader from the Bishop Airport Authority board.
By a 7-1 vote, the council rejected appointing Bishop Odis A. Floyd to a two-year term on the panel. The council voted to delay consideration of Floyd, a nominee of Mayor Don Williamson, for six months in March after rejecting his appointment in January.

Members have said they oppose Floyd because he doesn't live in Flint and they believe he would be part of a Williamson effort to remove airport Director James L. Rice. Floyd's supporters have countered that the council has approved nonresidents in the past, and city officials deny that the mayor wants to remove Rice.
