2007 State History Award Nominations Due August 1
The Historical Society of Michigan is seeking nominations for its 2007
State History Awards to be presented at the annual Awards Reception and
Banquet during the State History Conference in Macomb County, September
28-30. Each year the Society presents State History Awards to those
individuals and organizations that have made outstanding contributions
to the appreciation and understanding of Michigan history.
Awards are presented in the following categories: Lifetime Achievement,
Restoration and Preservation, Special Programs and Events, Local
Societies, Distinguished Volunteer Service, Educators, Educational
Programs, Distinguished Professional Service, Michigan History
Publications (university/commercial, private press, and children/youth
categories), Communications (newsletters and websites), Media,
Businesses, and Institutions.
If you know of a person or organization who has made an outstanding
contribution to Michigan history in one of these areas you can find a
nomination form at www.hsmichigan.org (click on the “Awards” tab) or
call the Historical Society of Michigan toll-free at (800) 692-1828 and
we will send or fax a form to you.
Nominations are due on or before August 1, 2007
