Leave it to Ricky Hampton to find a racial issue in the story of one African American man (Bonds) beating another African American man's record (Aaron). (see today's Flint Journal)
Most of the Whites I know didn't want Bonds to break the record - not because he uses steroids, but because Bonds is a complete prick to fans, fellow players and the media. Aaron was a classy guy.
Maybe that's where the story lies Ricky. Maybe if you dive deeper into your stats that you present, you'll find that white people respect classiness and despise blatant arrogance.
Your article was stupid.
It's the 21st century - yes racism still exists, but get over yourself and stop trying to dig it up and find it where it's not. |

Does anybody else find it slightly hypocritical that in the sports section of today's Flint Journal, Rickey Hamptom complains that the future of the SWA football players will be ruined because employers can "google" their names.
I mean: doesn't Rickey and his reporter colleauges benefit on a daily basis from the concept of a "Free Press" and the Freedom of Information act?
You can't have it both ways Rickey. Pick your poison: either the flow of information is universally available, or we'll deal with the slippery slope of censorship and live in a world where somebody picks and chooses what is "safe" for you to digest.
SURELY you learned this concept in Journalism 101. ? |

Records of successful completion of HYTA are exempt under FOIA.
Worldwide web and Googling are quite another. Once it's out there, there's no way to retract. |
