After taking over a Flushing dealership a year ago, Patsy Lou Chevrolet in Flushing closed today.
The last of more than 650 vehicles at the Patsy Lou Chevrolet dealership on Pierson Road drove off the lot yesterday, headed for the company's Corunna Road location.
Patsy Lou Williamson announced the closure at 10 a.m. this morning in a news conference at Patsy Lou Buick GMC, 5135 Corunna Road in Flint Township.
The vehicles and 50 employees were moved to the Flint Township dealership because there is more space and business traffic, she said.
She estimated that the move could double sales at the Corunna Road location.
There are no current plans for the empty Pierson Road dealership, Williamson said.
Williamson last year bought the former Prestige Chevrolet, 1415 Pierson Road. |

Before this point, I didn't have anything personal against the Patsy Lou dealership. I was a little concerned when they bought the Prestige dealership in Flushing last year, but I figured, hey... business is business.
I'm a lot peeved about this. So she buys out another local business to eliminate competition, then just moves everything to her old dealership, leaving Flushing with an ugly empty dealership which she will probably hold on to because if she sells it, another car dealership might buy it and once again create more competition.
That dealership is on one of the busiest intersections going into downtown Flushing and its going to look like an eyesore to anyone coming in.
I'm not saying it should be illegal. But it sure is sleazy and I will drive out of my way to help the competition. |

I believe Patsy Lou had been trying to move the Chevy dealership from Flushing but Applegate Chevrolet had been blocking that move. Was a deal struck between Patsy Lou and Applegate? |

I wouldn't buy a car there if it was the only dealership in Michigan. |

I walked in their once when my son was looking for a new ride headed back to Al Serra in a flash. Dont need the old pushy high pressure salesmen routine from the good old days. |

Went to Al Serra once. Looked at a LeSabre & asked what kind of deal I could get. The salesman tapped the sticker & said that's the price. Never been to Patsy's; our last 2 cars were Ford products. |

I believe the GM employee discount pretty much ends the bickering. I go to Al Serra cause I have a good saleman who I have been working with for many years. Call him up tell what I want drive down pick it up. Over and done. |

I worked at Blain for a while back in the day with Leroy. He's a character.
Patsy Lou...we care about you...unless you live in Flushing. |
