If the second of these proposals passes a certain someone at city hall should lose one's position.

LANSING — Michigan election officials have approved wording for two proposals on the statewide November ballot.

The Board of State Canvassers today set the ballot language for a proposal that will allow voters to decide whether Michigan should hold a constitutional convention. The proposal has to be on the Michigan ballot every 16 years.

Canvassers also approved wording for a proposal forwarded to voters by the Michigan Legislature. The proposal would ban certain felons from holding elected office and some other public employment in the state.

The felonies involved would relate to dishonesty or breach of public trust while holding a public office within the previous 20 years.
