An entertaining science exhibit with hands-on activities to bring out the materials scientist in you!
This is an interactive exhibit, where you can literally hold the future in your hands.
This hands-on exhibit will be at Sloan Museum until May 10, 2009.
It delves into the world of materials science, or the study of "stuff."
Space exploration and cardiac surgery are known for their use of advanced materials, but these materials
have also found their way into the stuff of everyday life - from cell phones
to cameras, from duct tape to kayaks.
Strange Matter uses science to
explore the bizarre world of modern materials and provides a glimpse into
where the future of they might take us.
Presented by Materials Research Society. Locally sponsored by Chase Bank, HAP, CK 105.5 and Z92.7.
This exhibition and its tour are made possible by the generous support of
the following sponsors: National Science Foundation, Alcan, Dow, Ford
Motor Company Fund, Intel® Innovation in Education and the 3M
Foundation.
