I read in today's Free Press that Granholm is having talks with Alaska & California about moving some of their prisoners to the ones here she ordered vacated due to budget constraints. Release our prisoners to make room for those from other states? Oh, that's right, we can charge them more that it costs to house them & make a profit. Can we use that profit to add to police forces around the state to police all our released convicts? Since California is starting to issue IOU's instead of cash, how would they pay us - more IOU's? |

She is sure qualified to be part of Obamas team. I wonder how much she cheated on her taxes? |

Granholm is the queen of prisons. This is about the only thing she seems to be doing o.k. at. I read that Michigan only spends $30,000 per year on a each inmate which is very good compared to California's $50,000 per year per inmate.
It's pretty asanine that Micjigan is still putting our gruggies in jail while Texas and Illinois have sent theirs to the white house.
Michigan's incarceration rate is too high and we need major sentencing reform. Drug possesion is not more serious than murder despite what happens with our sentencings sometimes. |
