City, township officials consider opposing countywide millage vote to support Hurley

GENESEE COUNTY, Michigan -- Even as the Aug. 4 polling day approaches for a countywide millage to fund health care services at Hurley Medical Center, a growing number of city and township officials are questioning the county's legal right to ask the question in the first place.

It's too late to block the election. But all over the county, township boards and city and village councils from 28 communities are considering whether to take part in a joint lawsuit in Genesee County Circuit Court to render the election results void, no matter the result.
