(07/23/04)-- Flint Fire Fighters were stretched thin last night, battling several fires that broke out across the city.
Fire Chief Bob Elizondo says crews responded to three fires within two hours.
Fire started around 3 this morning at this vacant house in the 5500 block of Winthrop.
A few minutes later, crews fought the flames at a multi-unit home on Begole street. The four residents living there got out safely.
A kitchen fire also broke out on the 3900 block of Brownell. No one there was hurt.
The cause of the first two fires is under investigation.
The Red Cross is helping the displaced residents.
