Author    Post   untanglingwebs El Supremo During the election Walling promised change and transparency! Even City Council promises transparency! What we we get is duplicity! Every day we are bombarded on the news with the message of not to give out too much information to people we don't know. And yet now block clubc and former block clubs are being threatened and cajoled to release information to strangers, some who won't even reveal their name. And when asked why this information is being gathered they claim they don't know. The city of Flint has a new volunteer form which is more like a job application. They want to even know what organizations you belong to, prior work experiences, education, social security number, birthdate, etc. Who is safeguarding this personal information? Now it appears the City of Flint DCED and some council, not all, are in on the scam. When groups applied for grants from Keep genesee County Beautiful, they did not expect their information would be given out. Now they feel betrayed as they are being threatened with no more grants if they don't participate. THE NEWEST PROMISE IS THEY CAN HAVE THEIR HOMES REHABBED AND MADE ENERGY EEFFICIENT IF THEY COMPLY! WHERE IS THE MONEY COMING FROM? THE PERSON CALLING DOESN'T KNOW! AND YET THERE IS NO MESSAGE TO THE COMMUNITY TELLING THEM THESE CALLS ARE COMING OR THE REASONING BEHND THIS INFORMATION GATHERING. THE TECHNIQUES RUN THE GAMUT FROM THREATS TO DOWNRIGHT BRIBES. WHAT WILL HAPPEN WHEN THESE PEOPLE GIVE THE INFORMATION AND THEY CAN'T GET THEIR HOUSE REHABBED OR MADE ENERGY EFFICIENT?
