Author    Post   Dave Starr F L I N T O I D I got a letter today from the Crim Fitness Foundation, addressed to me and our block club. The letter mentions a grant to improve city parks, and asks us to share our ideas for parks at the "Neighborhood Action Sessions". So, whoever is collecting this information has given it to the Crim organization, and who knows how many others. What next; sell the information to mail order businesses and telemarketers? _________________ I used to care, but I take a pill for that now. Pushing buttons sure can be fun. What you describe is not public information as I understand it,and its dissemination has specific penalties..see yahoo rules for groups. But if a group, individual, etc. , collects you information, they can do whatever they want with it, unless a privacy statement is shown. When I have gone to these meetings and seminars, I have never seen a privacy policy or statement. Therefore, information is freely given and they can do with it as they please. Thu Mar 04, 2010 12:06 pm  J HUNTINGWORTH TUNE F L I N T O I D Thanks for the correction, as I apparently misunderstood the situation.I thought this was data collected from a yahoo group.( cut and pasted from a block club, or yahoo web )I have noticed this being done. . If so it would have been I believe violation of rule#11. I personaly would exit any group should I find it used my address,e mail or tx outside of its intended application,that is the group contacting me,unless I gave them explicate permision to do so.Thanks for the warning.
