Friday night residents in the Dupont and Welch area lost power after a transformer was shot out with an AK 47.
Saturday night the same neighborhood was terrorized with barrages of gunfire at 10 m and 2 am on Sunday morning.
Sure looks like the cease fire is working. |

The cease fire isn't in effect yet. Walling said they have to put together a steering committee and make plans first. Then, if there's any of the hoped for grant money left after paying the steering committee, they can proceed with the cease fire. I believe either walling or Lock said something about late fall.
No police officers to make arrests.
No place to lock them up if arrested.
Plea bargains if prosecuted.
Light sentences if convicted.
Early release or parole.
Sounds like a plan. |

The gunfire continues every night and people must spend some of their nights on the floor because there are no police to answer their 911 calls.
On a clear night the sound of gunshots carry long distances. |
