During my campaign, I have interacted with people from the community. I noticed that a big complaint was accessibility to the people that represent them. Many of the candidate events that have been going on are fundraisers. That is fine and many candidates pay for their campaigns using them.
Not everyone can afford $25 or more, but that should not exclude them from participating in our government and interacting with the people who may one day represent them.
I have attended two events that were free to the public. The interaction of the voters was nice and it got me thinking.... So, this morning, I talked to two local business owners.
Here's what I came up with.
Come have breakfast with me. I don't want donations, just buy something for breakfast, support your local business and let me know what is important to you and find out where I stand on things. There are two opportunities for this.
