Author    Post   Steve Myers Site Admin FlintFest began as a vision between Dave of Blackstain Productions and Colleen of Reckless Entertainment. The idea was to be able to put the best of Flint's rock bands together on one stage. No battle of the bands or any of that competitive crap. Just the bands out there having fun and entertaining the people. Flint is hardly ever perceived in a positive light, but when you think about it some of the best bands are here in Flint. So why not have an all day music festival where everyone can come out and enjoy the music without having to be cooped up in a bar? Best part, it an all ages event held at Kearsley Park. The bands play in the pavilion and the kids have the playground right next to it. The 1st FlintFest vision became a reality on Sunday, August 6th, 2006. We put it together on a shoestring budget and did it all in a couple of months. We had a lot of positive feedback from the show. People keep asking when the next will be held. Well FlintFest 2007 will be on Saturday, August 11th with 14 bands. We will also have the Flint Gear Grinders Car Club there hosting a car show featuring the best of the best in all categories. The crowd gets to vote on that.
