Now let's see what all the big mouths are driving in doing their part to reduce the demand for gas. Do you have a fuel efficient vehicle?
My cars:
Porsche Boxter- 33 mpg
Buick Roadmast- 28 mpg/highway
Ford Focus- 34 mpg/highway
Chevy Silverado- 15 mph (used to tow the trailer)
Harley- 49 mpg
Suzuki GSXR600- 53 mpg
I feel pretty confident I'm doing my share to help and only drive when need be. EX: work!

I have walked to work 4 times in the last two weeks!! Not only has it saved me gas money and improved the enviroment, but it always has been very enjoyable!

as a real estate agent don't you have to meet clients and show them houses? How do you do that without a car [to carry the multi-list books, signs, forms etc that real estate agents always seem to need?

Congratulations Ryan. If more people do this more often then we will reduce our need on oil and help our ecology and our health.
Keep it up!

I would love to, but I work off-hours in Auburn Hills, so that would be a really long walk!! Shocked

I've looked into mass transit, but the bus schedules for Flint (MTA) and Oakland County (SMART) are about five minutes off from each other, so I'd have some long layovers at the bus stations, and it would take me about three hours each way. No thanks.

I drive a car now that gets around 35 MPG... so I'm doing my best, but my long commute still makes me burn up more gas than the average bear.

Since you are so intrigued about this, I shall share with you.. A couple days of the week I work exclusively in my office: returning calls, doing reports, mailings, conference calls etc. On these days I don't need my car, and If I do I live 10 minutes from my office, so its a easy walk back to get my car.
We don't carry around those huge multi list books anymore, its all done via the computer, blackberrys etc.

Its fun to walk downtown, lots to see while your walking. Things down here are always changing![b]
