It is slamming here this weekend. I operate an oceanfront hotel 12 miles south of Daytona Beach and it is that time again. The NASCAR Pepsi 400 race is running Saturday, July 7th and the town is packed. We're very excited about all the business and actually are getting over $300 on some rooms. I know it is price gouging but it is one of those things that is everyone is doing we have to follow. Plus look at the revenue.

Price gouging is the reason I no longer got to NA$CAR races. |

The only good thing I can say about what we charge for our hotel rooms is, we have not raised our rates in 5 years. Unfortunately as a business you get caught up in all the increased revenue and there is no way to reverse it. But, our utility bill has gone from averaging eight grand a month to over 20 grand a month and it has to be paid. Just like the high cost of gas (and that is all I will say about that because I have a tendency to get excited). We all know it is not right and we will never see $2 a gallon gas again.
Once again, Go #24!
