Topic: My hotel wins award-mgt by Flintstone

Just sharing some good news about my hotel in Florida. Received word that my hotel has won the 2007 Service Excellence Award presented by Holiday Inns. We are one of only 10 hotels in the Holiday Inn system to receive this thus placing us in the Top 10 percent of all Holiday Inns in North America.
We are so excited and thought the crowd in Flint would be proud to know a hotel managed by a Flintstone could do so well.

It is an oceanfront hotel located in New Smyrna Beach, FL. We ave gone through 6 hurricanes in the last several years and getting ready to begin a 4 million dollare renovation. My staff has stepped up for me which is why we are getting this award.

if i understand your math...one of 10 and top 10 percent, that implies Holiday Inn only has 100 hotels in North America?

That doesn't sound right.

here is an interesting article about Holiday Inn the brand and what the owning corporation, IHG Corp. is doing to improve the brand image.

I have to admit I shy away from Holiday Inns for the same reasons in the article, unless they are newer properties and or the Holiday Inn Express [which tend to be newer]. The quality of the stay is highly variable.

I hope Holiday Inn sheds those franchisees that maintain substandard properties.

I bet on the beach in Florida is not one of them.

You're right in that the math does not add up but only quoting what is in the letter I received.
Holiday Inn knows exactly how you feel which is why the older units are going by the wayside. I can atest to the fact that corporate Holiday Inn has created quite the pressure cooker for those out dated hotels and has vowed to remove them from the system.
That is why I'm so proud of my staff in their efforts to keep the customer happy thereby causing Holiday Inns to recognize our hotel and our efforts.
