Can someone fill me in on the debacle that happened or is still happening with a local cable provider and the televising of certain college football games?

Was it, Comcast? Was it a new sports network that they wanted to sign on/up with? I am not a fan of football, nor do I watch much television, but it would be nice for my workaholic husband to take a break on the weekend!!! Not kidding!! Would he be able to watch the games? I'd like to surprise him by making a bowl of chili, with the trimmin's, a new U of M blanket to cover up with and hat and take the kids to the grandparents house so he can have time alone.........how's that, for a surprise from a wifey? Smile

That's the name of the network, thanks. _)(&)(*&( I take it that College Football is now only for the privileged, those that don't have basic cable or rabbit ears?

No blame it on Comcast. The Big Ten Network wants to be available on regular cable, but Comcast is making it a premium channel and wants everyone that wants it to buy a special sports package.

We switched to Directv in January - got tired of dealing with Comcast's lousy customer service & repairs. Anyway, the Big 10 network is part of our package at no extra cost. We get pretty much everything except the movie channels, 2 receivers, DVR, etc. for $52.00 per month.
NOT connected to Directv in any way except as a happy customer.

Pushing buttons sure can be fun.

When a lion wants to go somewhere, he doesn’t worry about how many hyenas are in the way.

Paddle faster, I hear banjos.

ditto.

though many of the Big Ten network games aren't ones that are very attractive......

the real good ones get picked up by the networks and ESPN first.

the crappy ones fall down to the Big Ten Network.
