Yupp its true, the boys in cell block 69 in the State Pen voted Mr. Williamson
Ms. Congeniality
back in 1963. He was a "outstanding person to bunk with" said Jake Willie Willis. He won the election in 63' 2 to 1, getting more votes than his closest competitor Cledious " Back Handed Compliment" Jones. No one did more for the "community" in cell block 69 than Williamson. "He literally would bend over for ya, and help ya out in any way possible" said one inmate who goes by "The Ladies Man". The next the election was tough, Williamson really stepped up the campaigning. He would sweep others floors, polish their bars and even share his passoniate conjugal vists from his lady friends.
He then won the award the next 5 years running, thats where he received the name "The Don".
Now you know the rest of the story! |

Maybe it's just a sign of the Walling camp's desperation. |

i didn't intend on getting back online until later but this particular
thread is eating my craw.....if indeed this did happen, i have even
more respect for williamson. prison is all about survival. no, i've never
been there, but i know several who have. i know a guy who was the
ultimate neighborhood bully. this guy induced complete fear into many.
he eventually went to prison. several years later he came back into the
neighborhood completely changed. he had a large, long scar across
his face and had turned totally feminine. drastic metamorphasis!!!!!!
he eventually left as a beaten soul and no one has heard from him since.
if, this is true about the mayor, i give him even MORE RESPECT because
he survived AND made something of himself. i seriously doubt ANYONE
on this board (perhaps 1) could handle the emotional scarring, yet succeed
in life.......so, if this is true, i respect you mayor williamson, as a survivor,
as a mayor and most importantly, as a MAN. |

Attack ads an embarrassment
FLINT JOURNAL LETTER TO THE EDITOR

I find it very disturbing that people from outside Flint are making disparaging remarks about Mayor Don Williamson.
Let the people of Flint choose whom they want to run this city for the next four years.
Why are these ads so mean spirited?
We already know that the mayor is a convicted felon, tell us something we don't know.
I am embarrassed and appalled that Mark Brewer of the state Democratic Party would use such low and vicious language to attack the mayor.
Weren't "we" the Democrats outraged when the Republican Party used this same type of attack during the last presidential election?
How then can we, as decent citizens, allow or encourage these types of negative ads to play a role in this election?
Shame on Brewer for going to this low level during this mayoral election.
I hope Dayne Walling will separate himself from these attack ads and let the people know what he is going to do for us instead of what the current administration is or is not doing.
It does not seem that a college-educated man would need to endorse a smear campaign to win an election.
I, for one, cannot vote for a candidate who would use or endorse this sort of a platform to be elected.
What a big turnoff.
Let's clean it up.

If I recall correctly he did not serve time in the state pen, it was a federal institution and those records aren't available online. You have to write for them. Your story holds water like a sieve. |

I agree with last time here:
Blahblah's posts are becoming just what HIS username alludes to blah, blah. HE is beginning to sound like Charlie Brown's teacher.....remember?
If you blah, blah, want to get down and dirty like that, go to mlive and bond with the sockpuppets of Smokin' Craig.
I can honestly say that I don't really like politics in forums, but 'tis the season, and this board has conducted itself in a nice manner, well, nicer than some other political forums, how's that?
I am also glad to see people partake in the self-moderating process. The forum owners are probably on their 4th tablet of Excedrin today. |
