Author    Post   Flinn's Journal F L I N T O I D This note is to inform readers that due to a content dispute, the Flinn's Journal column is no longer on the http://www.waterwinterwonderland web site. You can still see some of the archived articles at http://web.archive.org/web/*/http://www.waterwinterwonderland.com/flinn.asp and my Uncommon Sense columns are still on line at the Uncommon Sense web site. The dispute concerns a "Recall Granholm" banner at http://www.michigandriveins.com as I objected to political material in what is supposed to be a non-political web site. I'll have some sponsored links on that web site as well. Also, Your Magazine has expressed interest in picking up the printed column. The demographics this magazine has are older than the demographics for the Uncommon Sense so I would be tailoring the Your Magazine columns to that group of readers. The unpublished Uncommon Sense column about early Flint TV is too technical for the Your Magazine audience so I may make this my debut new online Flinn's Journal column. The column about The Who's visit to Flint in 1967 made it in print in the final Uncommon Sense issue, but that didn't make it online. So I'll be putting that in the online column with proper credit. Matt Zacks has released the unpublished Flinn's Journal material back to me. I love the history articles of Flint, my family has been in these parts since 1905. And there were some people that came over on the same boat with members of my family that settled in Flint, A.J. Boss, that had a carriage line from Pontiac to Flint in the late 1800's. I plan to do a little bit more research on the family and the places in Flint that they resided. This column never made it onto the Uncommon Sense web site before it folded, so I made it my debut column on my new web site. I'll eventually archive my old WaterWinterWonderland columns in the new web site.
