My daughter is taking an elective next semester encompassing this program. And this is what education is about.
Sure beats teaching to the MEAP. |

This class is at Whittier. Talk to his school since Flint has accepted the program perhaps SW will offer it also. I'm very impressed with what I've read, the idea that we all have responsibility for our world is very empowering if we get the kids when they are young.
Sure beats my daughter's friend who sees the world as all about Ugg boots. |

Sounds like a noble cause. Of course expecting to reach their goals will also involve having the terrorists sign up . Dont hold your breathe waiting for that to happen. |

I seriously doubt that any terrorist would find any use for an organization entitled "PeaceJams". Then again, some people see a terrorist behind every tree, don't they? |

Let's see, two hands weighing options.
On the right hand we can teach kids about guns and war and fighting. On the left hand we can teach them about how to serve their world peacefully. Hmmm. Tough decision.
Was it you who thought Eddie the Eagle belonged in schools? Just curious... |

Yes it was teaching gunsafety to kids (which is what Eddie Eagle does) is high on my prioritys. As far as teaching kids guns war and fighting lets hope their are a few out there willing to do it cause while your sitting around the campfire singing gumbaya someones gonna have to do the fighting for you. By the way this is my grandaughter Megan an all A student who was just invited to join the National Honor Society.

Well learning self defense and firearm safety is just part of that well rounded education at least some of us think so. I would think anyone living in or near a city that continually places anywhere from 1-3 as one of the most violent places to reside might agree. Of course lots of folks think it will never happen to them. LT, shes 12 years old I believe a little past the Barbie Easybake stage. By the way that aint my spread its an old gravel pit back in the boonies where lots of us"GunNuts" practice one of our hobbies. and of course dont forget this.
The Top Ten Reasons Men Prefer Guns over Women:
10. You can trade an old 44 for a new 22.
9. You can keep one gun at home and have another for when you're on the road.
8. If you admire a friend's gun and tell him so, he will probably let you try it out a few times.
7. Your primary gun doesn't mind if you keep another gun for a backup.
6. Your gun will stay with you even if you run out of ammo.
5. A gun doesn't take up a lot of closet space.
4. Guns function normally every day of the month.
3. A gun doesn't ask, "Do these new grips make me look fat?"
2. A gun doesn't mind if you go to sleep after you use it.
And the number one reason:
1. YOU CAN BUY A SILENCER FOR A GUN! |
