Hello all! It is spring, and its time for your friendly neighborhood Village person to start spreading the word about activities at Crossroads Village!
Unity Quilt Project
- This project is designed to introduce the art of quilting to a new generation and produce a quilt that represents the diversity in our county. Crossroads Village staff is asking community members to submit a 16" square that represents an individual, family, group, organization, or faith tradition. Drop it off at the GC Park's Admin office at 5045 Stanley Road, from M-F from 8am-5pm by
Friday, May 9
. Please include a contact name, mailing or email address, and a phone number. This project will culminate on Saturday, June 14, when the squares are combined. If you need quilting materials, contact Kathi Whitcomb at 810.736.7100 ext. 828.
Crossroads Village is also asking for donations of yarn, quilting material, and frozen juice lids (without sharp edges; for tin smithing).
Crossroads Village is also looking to hire a
certified barber
, preferably one with first aid experience, to work in the Fowler Barber Shop this summer. Job responsibilities would include engaging customers with the history of the shop and barbering profession, as well as dress in time appropriate dress. Applications and further information is available at the GC Parks and Recreation office on Stanley Road.
FINALLY, I believe tickets are already being purchased for
DAY OUT WITH THOMAS
, August 15-17, 22-24, 2008. Tickets are $18 each and ONLY available through ticketweb.com or by calling 866.468.7630.
Tickets ALWAYS sell out online WAY in advance, and the only way to get tickets after that is to purchase them at the gate. Only 20 tickets per train are sold the DAY OF, which means that if you show up for DAY OUT WITH THOMAS on August 15th with your family, you cannot by tickets for the following day. You have to come back on the 16th and purchase them that day.
Just a heads up! Have a pleasant evening! |
