PETITION DECLARING INTENT TO RECALL JENNIFER GRANHOLM

We, the undersigned, hereby state that we would support a petition to recall Jennifer Granholm from the office of Governor of the State of Michigan, for the following reason:
1. Governor Granholm has continually increased the tax burden on the citizens of Michigan throughout her time in office through increased fees, “sin” taxes and now by threatening a Government Shutdown if a significant income and service sales tax increase was not passed by the legislature. The recent $1.35 Billion increase in taxes, is the final straw. In demanding this tax increase and refusing to reform our government or control spending, she has failed in her fiscal duty to the citizens of this great state.
By signing this petition, we agree that our email address may be collected to be used for the SOLE PURPOSE of contacting us to sign the ACTUAL RECALL PETITION once actual recall petition verbiage is approved. We also state that we are eligible to sign this petition by declaring that we are a currently registered voter in the State of Michigan. We understand that this petition is NOT the ACTUAL RECALL PETITION, but declare our intent to sign the ACTUAL RECALL PETITION, once it is available to be signed in person.

That's one petition I will never sign. There is plenty of blame to go around so ask yourself this question. Can you handle more cutbacks? Remember when the state government was shut down for a few hours last fall? The problem is with the state senate which is controlled by Republicans thus creating government gridlock. Probably a better petition to sign would be one to Barack Obama or Hillary Clinton--whoever gets the nomination-- to convince the nominee, once elected, to appoint Granholm U.S. Attorney General.

I blame the one or two "Republicans" in the senate who backed down and passed the tax increase. It's understandable why the socialist liberal Democrats would want to protect their UAW union allies. It's just too bad the UAW is not as good at protecting factory jobs as they are protecting governmental jobs. This state does help benefit more conservative leadership though. If you travel down south a little ways you will see the signs welcoming businesses fleeing this hostile state. As more and more businesses (jobs) fee our state the yearly budget crisis should get more and more severe. I suspect the UAW's hard fought success at preserving governmental jobs to be short lived.

I guess everyone who's not a neo con or paleozoic cretin republican (whatever you call yourself...) is a socialist?

It's one of those things that is like the boy who cried wolf, just not that potent when you call everyone that.

Or unamerican. I support the U.S. constitution which calls for limited government. We have more government than some socialized and communist countries so I may be offending some socialists, marxists, etc because some of them support smaller government than what the U.S. has. The canadians have socialized health care but unnlike Michigan citizens they are at least smart enough to realize our racist drug laws that sometimes punish non violent drug possession more than cold blooded murder are a little humane. I would rather spend our money on things like socialized medicine than drug wars but I think not stealing citizens money so they can take care of themselves is the best path.

My statements are pretty "wolfy" right now because our nation is doing so well but numbers don't lie and our financial numbers are not looking good over the next 20 years. If you are old enough you should remember a time when fathers could provide for their whole family. That is much less prevalent nowadays and it shoud get worse.

Paleoconservatism
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paleoconservative

"Paleoconservatism (sometimes shortened to paleo or paleocon when the context is clear) is a term for an anti-communist and anti-authoritarian[1] right wing movement that stresses tradition, civil society and classical federalism, along with familial, religious, regional, national and Western identity.[2] Chilton Williamson, Jr. describes paleoconservatism as "the expression of rootedness: a sense of place and of history, a sense of self derived from forebears, kin, and culture — an identity that is both collective and personal.”[3] Paleoconservativism is not expressed as an ideology and its adherents do not necessarily subscribe to any one party line.[4]

Paleoconservatives in the 21st century often focus on their points of disagreement with neoconservatives, especially on issues like immigration, affirmative action, U.S. funding of Israeli military actions, foreign wars, and welfare.[2] They also criticize social democracy, which some refer to as the therapeutic managerial state,[5] the welfare-warfare state[6] or polite totalitarianism.[7] They see themselves as the legitimate heir to the American conservative tradition.[8]

Many paleoconservatives identify themselves as "classical conservatives" and trace their philosophy to the Old Right Republicans of the interwar period[23] which helped keep the U.S. out of the League of Nations, reduce immigration with the passage of the Immigration Act of 1924, and oppose Franklin Roosevelt. They often look back even further, to Edmund Burke, as well as the American anti-federalist movement that stretched from the days of Thomas Jefferson to John C. Calhoun.[24]"

There kind of has to be a distinction now because most people who think they are conservative still tend to favor big unconstitutional government and policing of the world.

How does a part time unicameral legislature without the state senate sound?

Is that why you voted to kill Manning Court because the cards you were dealt? Granholm did not have to raise taxes. Republicans had plans to make the cuts necessary in order to not raise taxes.

I guarantee with the same set of cards Devos would not have raised taxes and this state would be more business and family friendly.

It it makes you feel better Granholm was definately a better debater though.
