Maybe its just me, but why is there a big article on Mlive.com super excited about a Sonic "restaurant" coming here?
I'd personally be more excited about non-chain locally owned eateries and businesses. but call me crazy. did I miss something? |

I couldn't agree wit you more Tegan. We seem to get so excited over the latest chain restaurant opening around here. See White Castle, Bar Louie, Famous Dave's. I can't get excited over Sonic.
My favorite local restaurant has got to be Bada West. |

I love Badawest.
The best restaurant in town as far as I'm concerned is The Big Eazy. Of course, you have to love seafood
I also couldn't agree more. The only thing sadder than getting excited about more fast food is getting excited about a new Walmart. |

I have never eaten at Badawest, but now that I have the recommendation from two people, perhaps I shall try it.
My favorite restaurants are of course La Villa's in Mt Morris, Sam's in Rankin, and Halo Burger. Atlas Coney Island is also a good place for a greasy spoon. |

Some folks are crazy for Sonic. I am glad for any new, reputable businesses in the area. |

I also would think that any new wage paying business would be welcome in Flint. Is their some kind of litmus test they must pass first??? |

Sonic has great milk shakes. Their onion rings are good too. I hope they don't insult Flint by serving what they think are coney's. |

Tegan, so you've never eaten at a Sonic or Badawest, huh?
Well, two things. Like the others, I agree Badawest has very good middle Eastern food. I highly recommend it. Secondly, I also highly recommend Sonic. Does it warrant the article? I don't know. What surprises me is that so many people are this excited over a restaurant most of them have never dined in before. For the record, I have been to a Sonic before and the atmosphere is better than the food (not that the food's bad).
Oh, wait - there's a third thing. While Atlas is nothing out of the ordinary from any other coney island restaurant, this is by far my favorite. Not just because it's a greasy spoon, either. The best greasy spoon anywhere (for the food) is Starlight. Atlas treats you right and fits all the criteria of a perfect Flint coney island! |

The commercials for Sonic are hilarious! That might have a lot of people's attention. |

Never eaten at Badawest. I've had Sonic once, but it was a while ago on vacation and I thought it was a regional thing... like Juicy Lucy or Jack in the Box...
I like Atlas because it reminds me of my high school days... we'd go there after shows at the local. |
