Bill Clinton says Barack Obama must 'kiss my ass' for his support

Bill Clinton is so bitter about Barack Obama's victory over his wife Hillary that he has told friends the Democratic nominee will have to beg for his wholehearted support.

Mr Obama is expected to speak to Mr Clinton for the first time since he won the nomination in the next few days, but campaign insiders say that the former president's future campaign role is a
"sticking point"
in peace talks with Mrs Clinton's aides.
The Telegraph has learned that the former president's rage is still so great that even loyal allies are shocked by his patronising attitude to Mr Obama, and believe that he risks damaging his own reputation by his intransigence.
A senior Democrat who worked for Mr Clinton has revealed that he recently told friends Mr Obama could "kiss my ass" in return for his support. |

| Bill seems to have this passive-aggressive need to shoot his wife in the foot with comments like these, as if he, deep down, really doesn't want his wife to be successful. What if she were elected, and did a better job than he? Does anybody think Barack is going to want Hillary as VP if it means this guy is going to live anywhere near the White House? Would any president want any former president, Bill or otherwise, so close? This represents the main irony of the Clinton campaign. She is a formidable candidate on her own, yet despite her talents, it isn't completely unfair to suggest she wouldn't be there if not for her husband. Yet it is her husband that continues to shoot her campaign with stupid comments like this. |

If Hillary can help Obama lose than she could possibly still run against McCain in 2012. By 2016 it will for sure be too late for her. |
