I will need help getting my name out there after August 5th,
Right now, I am collecting signatures to be on the ballot in November.
My team is me, my wife and my dog, our cat has no comment.
I will need help going door to door, as I am now, and to talk with people and hand out literature.

First get a list of voters from your local clerk. 
Secondly, see if you can get on the Genesee County Road Commission and do an analysis of a road count and see where you can place signs by the "highest road count corners."
You don't need glossy flyers, two colors at max, one to emphasize your points.
Set up free blog at blogspot.com
Set up free e-mail account at Yahoo.com.
Ask friends (even online friends) to help distribute literature and to wear out the bottom of their shoes to pay homage to you.

While the primary is only democrats, there is an independent on the ballot for the fall. I actually think he's a pretty decent sort (despite the fact he's uber-conservative).
His name is Steve Myers, and I know his primary issue is the money allocated for the new township buildings. I won't attempt to speak for him, though.
