Author    Post   Miscreant F L I N T O I D A couple of questions. 1) I'm looking for an insider's take on the Henry vs. Busch race. I just want to understand what's at stake, why I should support one over the other. 2) I have a letter written by Art Busch that makes him look, at best, like an idiot, and at worst, like an amoral crony of felons. Is there anything I can do with it? I don't want him to win because he's so corrupt, but at the same time, if this Henry guy is bad news, I don't want to help him. You might want to ask for Steve Meyer's word first. He's the Flinttalk site administrator – but a would-be politician in his own right. So that might not work. Actually, that would be a good 'acting in the public interest' test for him too. What do you say, Steve? Other than that, I'm not sure. The traditional local media are way too gun shy to do anything that might be construed as 'influencing an election.' The letter was written to party #1, who copied it and distributed it to about 12 others... one of these 12 is the one giving it to me. It was an "official" letter from the prosecutor's office, so I'm thinking it doesn't jeopardize anyone involved. I'm going to scan it and put it on here, along with the supporting Flint Journal article that gives it context. I think it's REALLY damning of Busch, but maybe that's just me. Scan the document, and post it on your new blog. Also type out a transcript of the letter, so search engines can find it easier. Create a new e-mail address that doesn't use your own name, and e-mail a link to the new blog with the embarrassing letter to everybody you know, including Tony Dearing, the editor of the Flint Journal. Blogging is the new media, and if the old media refuses to do any kind of real investigative reporting, or digging beyond the sound-bytes to get to the truth, than somebody has to.
