Author    Post   rapunzel11 F L I N T O I D Making Democracy Work Award The "Making Democracy Work" award celebrates a community leader - a woman, fifty or older, who has envisioned a way to improve the Flint Area and has mobilized others to work with her to effect a change that has benefited the broader community. The award will honor this woman who has, in the League tradition, helped to make the Flint Area stong, vibrant and fair. Nominations must be received by Friday, August 1, 2008. The announcement of the recipient of the award will be on Women's Equal Rights Day, Tuesday, August 26, 2008. The award will be presented on Constitution Day, September 17, 2008. Adam, This will be an annual awards event. During this first year we will celebrate a woman (fifty or older). I am glad I do not qualify! Smile!
