You know...this guy is getting very ballsy in my humble opinion. What the hell is meeting with him for.......establishing policy?
This guy is digging himself a hole. He should be leading the polls by at least 15% and it's a horse race at this point. The more America gets to know him, the more they realize he's simply a pompous ass. |

| Nonsense, he is a U.S. Senator. Senators visit foreign leaders quite often. It seems to me, if he wasn't visiting foreign leaders, you would be criticizing him for not having any foreign relations cred. |

Maybe instead of meeting with foreign leaders and communicating with them to form a respectful relationship, we should just go to war with them all.
We could all tear our shirts off and flex our muscles at everyone because everybody loves "that guy".
God forbid we actually communicate. |

| I'm curious though, Stratton, you don't support Sen. Obama, yet you think he should be ahead in the polls. Why? If you look at sites that track polling by state, and tally probable electoral college totals, the lead is much greater. |

would submit to a Kyoto-like agreement that would sock Americans with literally
trillions of dollars in costs over the next half century for little or no
benefit.
"We can't drive our SUVs and eat as much as we want and keep our homes on 72
degrees at all times . . . and then just expect that other countries are going
to say OK," Obama has said. "That's not leadership. That's not going to happen."
Oh, really? Who's to say we can't load up our SUV and head out in search of
bacon double cheeseburgers at the mall? China? India? Bangladesh? The U.N.?

We HAVE to make changes now.
I particularly love how McCain is spreading lies about Obama NOT visiting a hospital in Landstuhl because he supposedly couldn't bring his media entourage. Despite the fact they KNOW it's not true, they keep saying it.
It's pathetic and McCain ought to be ashamed of himself. |

Some sources say he didn't go because the couldn't bring his campaign people or the media. He could visit as a Senator, not as a candidate.
Other sources say that he didn't want to visit because it might be construed as campaigning.
Depends on if you spin to the right or the left, I guess. |

No, it DOES NOT DEPEND ON SPIN. The facts are clear:
1) He notified them of his intention to visit, along with an adviser on his staff. At no time were there ANY PLANS to have media accompany him.
2) He was told that it would be seen as a campaign event, and the hospital encouraged him to cancel.
3) He cancelled.
END OF STORY
He did, however, visit a hospital quietly while he was in Iraq. No one cares about that, though. |

But the military is disputing that explanation. A spokesman for the base told NBC News that the base was prepared to host Sen. Obama, as long as some conditions were met.
"[H]e could only bring two or three of his Senate staff member, no campaign officials or workers. Obama could not bring any media. Only military photographers would be permitted to record Obama's visit.
We didn't know why [the trip was canceled]. He was more than welcome. We were all ready for him."
