Shouldn't the DNC politely ask him to stay away? Should a man with this moral character be a Superdelegate?

He'll fit right in with Edwards, the Clintons, & hedge fund manager George Soros.

Maybe Kwame is on Obamas list of VP choices. I also cant wait to see what the Clintons are going to spring on Baracko and sweep the nomination right out from under his Gucci Boots. Laughing

I wonder if Rev. Wright will give the invocation at McCain's inauguration?

Sorry to burst your bubble, twotap, but Obama does not want Kilpatrick at the convention.

Bubble??? just cause Baracko wants or does not want something does not mean he gets it. Besides hes gonna disenfranchise all those Motown fans of Kawame if hes not careful.

I don't think Kwame has many fans left.

But yep, they say he'll be a distraction. Good move.

Ill bet if they had a special election to see if he stays or goes he would still be around after the dust clears.

That certainly would be possible. One of the reasons I want Kwame to be convicted of a felony is so he loses his law license and livelihood. The last thing Michigan needs is for that idiot to resurface in a few years and win a seat in the state legislature, ala Hoodrow.

Obama needn't worry about alienating the black community in Detroit. BUT if he were to allow Kwame to crash the party in Denver it would have rammifications around the country. Detroit is/will vote overwhelmingly democratic regardless of who the candidate is.

But I don't think they will.

It will be hard for Jenny to not remove him, methinks.

Although! I heard a story on the radio this morning about the cop who filed the complaint. Apparently when he called the dispatcher, he was in high spirits, didn't sound too traumatized, and then asked her to register it as a felony instead of a misdemeanor. I don't really get how that works, but...

Kilpatrick Attorneys: Assault Charges Trumped Up
Sarah Hulett

DETROIT (2008-08-14) Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick will be back in court tomorrow for a preliminary examination on charges that he shoved a sheriff's deputy.

Attorneys for the mayor say evidence in the case contradicts the claims made by the deputy.

The mayor's public relations team released excerpts from a recording tonight that was submitted into evidence by the state attorney general's office.

Lawyers for Kilpatrick say the tape show that the detective who was allegedly assaulted by the mayor was not traumatized.

James Thomas says the recording shows Detective Brian White joking, and telling the dispatcher to ratchet up the charges from a misdemeanor to a felony.

"So it's very clear that originally it was called in as an assault, and then they bumped it up to felony charges for whatever motivations they had," said Thomas.

Conviction of a felony would force the mayor out of office. A judge today will decide whether there's enough evidence to bind the case over for trial.
