Barack Obama is supposed to announce his running mate soon. Hillary Clinton's name hasn't been seriously considered for a while, and I can understand why. If you were the president, would you want Bill Clinton anywhere nearby? Bill would suck all of the oxygen out of the room wherever he went. It would be like getting married and buying the house right next to your wife's buff ex-boyfriend. For the Republicans, I'm surprised nobody has mentioned Elizabeth Dole. |

You and I may not think so, but Hillary's people do. A Hillary Clinton spokesperson recently said that if Obama picks a woman VP, it's inconceivable that he would pick a woman over Hillary. To which Bill Clinton replied, “It’s not
that
inconceivable!” |

Hmm, I've been waffling, but I'll take a shot.
Even after all this speculation, I'm going to go with Evan Bayh. |

I thought of that too, TT. Obama/Biden is a tongue-twister too. I liked Richardson until somebody told me he wanted to divert Great Lakes water westward. |

Of course he does. Everyone's going to want our water in the next few years.
I really don't want the pro-lifer. He does nothing for the base. |

First of all, this is my first attempt with a blackberry...we'll see how it goes.
Anyway, I apologize, I meant Tim Kaine, not Richardson.
Q: Will the illustrious members of our board still vote for McCane if they get Tom Ridge? |

I would expect the choice to be announced today. Big news is never announced on Friday, unless they want it to be buried in the weekend papers, which few people read. Since he is announcing it first to supporters on his text message and email list, I'm guessing it will be around one or two pm edt, so not to slight his supporters on the west coast or homestate of Hawaii who might be sleeping while we're already working. That would give it enough time for plenty of buzz before the convention starts Monday. |

What possible alternative do we have? Is their a scenerio where you would abandon the Obama ship and come to the "illustrious" side? |

I'm just asking if, as some seem to demonstrate here (not you necessarily, TT), abortion is a make/break issue, will having a pro-choice Repub on the ballot lose them votes? Maybe not even switches, but some won't bother to show up?
Is anyone that committed to the issue on here?
I'll be nervous if there's a pro-lifer on the Dem ticket, but I'll have to assume he'll be rendered useless in national politics. I guess you guys could do the same, except for "the principle". |
