The FBI's latest national crime report is now out, and the Detroit News reported that Flint was the second-most violent city in the country in 2004.
But Flint Police Chief Gary Hagler said that claim is completely false.
Hagler said the Detroit News's report was based only on cities with more than 100,000 people. He said if every city were included, Flint wouldn't be in the top 20 in the nation, not even the top five in the state.
The same report lists Detroit as the eighth-most violent city in the nation, down from No. 1.
