It looks nice to see Granholm standing with President elected
Obama. Our Governor is about to become a very important
person in President Obama's administration, and what we
need to do here in Michigan is to wonder about who will be on
next Governor.
I believe in our Lt Governor Mr Cherry, and hopefully he will
continue what our Cool Governor Granholm started.
WE do not need anyone who is like Bush, or former Governor
John Angler that's for sure. |

And what, exactly, has Granholm done for Michigan? |

Kept it from going into bankruptcy?
You're right, we can't point to Michigan and say look at all the wonderful things. We can say, man, we were headed down a very dangerous road, and she kept us from disaster.
Loss mitigation is just as important as growth. |

What specific things? Not generalities. |

The only reason I brought it up was this is the first time I have actually listened to Obama speak without a script or tele prompter and I thought well OK hes now our Prez lets see what all this hype was about. You know folks fainting, shortness of breathe , a tingling feeling up your leg, well endowed young ladies flashing their boobies, just a magnificent experience and such. Ah well let me ah be clear on ah what I ah have ah planned for the ah country.THATS IT???? Holy shit your joking right?? Anyhow that has little to do with his ability to govern but I do find it humorous that all we ever heard was Dubyas inability to make a monumental literate speech. By the way I did hear bits of a speech by Barack some months ago when he was first running in which he said that a vote for him means no more same o same o in Washington. OK, we now have old 30 year Joe biden as vice prez and the old Clinton pit bull Rahm Emmanuel as resurrected consigliori. Were right back to the same Washington insiders that have been there forever. One more thing I sure hope hes not planning on having Jenny Granholm actually be one of his economic advisers as was stated just before the election but she damn sure was standing just off to his right today. Change you can count on. YIPE!!!
And than there is this Barack doing a little standup. My advice dont forget the teleprompter.
Obama apologizes to Nancy Reagan for 'careless' joke
President-elect Barack Obama called Nancy Reagan this afternoon to apologize for a joke about her having held "séances" in the White House, an Obama aide said.
“President-elect Barack Obama called Nancy Reagan today to apologize for the careless and off handed remark he made during today’s press conference," said transition spokeswoman Stephanie Cutter. "The President-elect expressed his admiration and affection for Mrs. Reagan that so many Americans share and they had a warm conversation."
Obama was asked at his press conference today if he'd spoken to all the "living" presidents.
"I have spoken to all of them who are living," he responded. "I didn’t want to get into a Nancy Reagan thing about doing any séances."
He was apparently confusing stories about Reagan's consulting with an astrologer with those about other First Ladies -- from Mary Todd Lincoln to Hillary Clinton -- who tried to make contact with figures from the past.
