For posterity's sake:
In all census data, black, white, asian, native american... Those are races. Hispanic is classified as an ethnicity. It's not a separate race. |

quote:
Mellow D schreef:
My, aren't you two patriotic. Love your country so much that you are afraid that your fellow citizens might be cared for?
What do you think tax money is for? Bombing Iraq? Bailing out businesses? Shoveling into the pockets of your buddies from Yale? No, tax money is supposed to be used to make life easier and more pleasant for citizens of our great nation. Schools. Roads. Bridges. Healthcare. Parks. Fire Departments. Libraries. Scientific research. These are the things that make a country great.
You know what makes today so great? That you two grumpy old men can still think the government is there to tax you and bomb Iran, but today YOU ARE WRONG!!! From now on, we start to build a government that takes care of its citizens and a citizenry with enough respect for each other to want to see their neighbors have affordable homes, healthcare, and education, even if it means that people who make over $250k a year with have to pay more taxes. If that drives you two old curmudgeons crazy, then we'll build you a publicly funded loony bin so that you won't end up crazy and homeless. You deserve it. Just because you are an American.
I love this day.
Where does it say in the Constitution that it's the gov't responsibility to provide healthcare? or scientific research?
I think taxes are meant to fund infrastructure and national defense...not proping up lazy ass people. |

Yeah Kevin....that's what I said. You are way left of center dude. I guess people don't have any personal responsibility for anything, just let barack pay for it right? Yeah, that's what made America great. You and Mike ought to move to Cuba...you'd be in lazy hog heaven. |

Ah, poor Stratton. Why would I go to Cuba when we finally have competent leadership here? Why do you hate lazy scientists and sick people? If I went to Cuba, should I bring all of those "fake Americans" that Sarah Palin loves so much? You know, those "fake Americans" that just elected our first president in over twenty years to receive a majority of the popular vote? If I and 52% of American voters are, as you put it "far to the left of center", then perhaps the center isn't where you imagine it to be. |

Yeah come to the future so we can pay our debts that we have been put under. People kind of need jobs so we can carry the yoke of our social welfare debts. Our nation is maturing into poverty. |
