Saw on the news that Flint has dropped to number 6 on the dangerous cities list. Looks like a lot of the crime numbers have really dropped.

Possibly could have made it out of the top 10 if the mayor would have been more fiscally responsible and eliminated the need to decimate the police department and close the city jail.

Could be the numbers are based on populations over 100,000 and Flint has killed off enough people to fall under that number. Glad to see an improvement of any kind. I still love Flint!!!!

Most of the state is experiencing financial woes and police are being laid off in many communities. Just read stories on the net. Until the state stops losing jobs and stabilizes there will be more layoffs everywhere. Don't forget there were layoffs in the previous administrations and under Kurtz.

One has to do what one has to do! My State of Florida is in the same situation as well as in New Smyrna Beach. The local government complains of tax shortfalls now that property values are dropping.
I guess they got used to those higher revenues and spent the heck out of it and now are short. Of course every cop car and government vehicle in town is brand new. Should have put away for a rainy day.
