Day after day people sign on to Flint Talk posting about
the many Crisis in Flint, but I have never seen anyone
post a real solution. As I mentioned earlier after driving
around in different low class areas of Flint. I seen young
Blacks standing around with noting to do in groups, and
the was happening where the low class Whites lives.

The killing part of it all is seeing these wannabe so called
cool youngsters with guns. This is in both color neighbor
hoods, and now I see why Schools are being closed.
Have the City of Flint (not Davison) ever hosted a teen
summit to discussion intervention or prevention with the
Students?

What about you adults who sit back and criticize these
kids. Have any of you ever came into the Flint inner-
city to speak with these unrulely Kids? but I bet that
many of you have told your children to stay away from
other skin-colors, and as far as I see on here everyone
is talking but no action.

Regardless if I am in Bay City, Saginaw, or my home
here in the Detroit area I am always taking the time out
to talk to young people, and I do point out that Guns are
for cowards. Damn the City Administration, do what you
must do as Citizens to make things better.

There was an ACORN demonstration awhile back, when there wasn't snow.Smile Maybe in October? It became kinda tense but not really...does that make any sense? This is about all that has been done.

There was a really, really classy Rev. that was killed by a driveby I thought for sure that that would be the nail in the coffin for apathy...but it's not.

There are the Police Volunteers at the mini stations but I think that they may be low on the list for the current administration to pay attention to.

If a march can be done with silence and everyone controlled, everyone, then there may be something done...dunno.

andi03. I see and understand your point, and its a damn
shame for Community groups to talk load, and saying
nothing. It takes more then jumping up & down, falling
out, and marching in sub zero weather it takes unity to
achieve a goal.

As you mentioned about the Rev getting murdered, and
those space cadets who was Police volunteers. I am seen
two different pictures. (1): Who really care about the Rev
killed just as long as it wasn't them. (2): As you said
those cadets was volunteers to do what the cops was signed
to do, due to the fact that the cops might have said...oh well
the Rev is one negro that we won't have to worrie about any
more...pass the beer.

In closing andi03 if a march is planned to serve its purpose
by getting the point of the march across in a peaceful way,
and the protestors are serious about getting the message
over to those who are watching that would make the march
or rally be a success.

I have attached a couple rallies there in Flint, and to feel the
negative vibes from some of the people I could not believe
how unconcerned they appeared to be. So until we all come
together we all will be up shit creek.

That, and perceived educational level. The North End is often referred to as "low class" for those reasons. I've heard North Enders referred to as stupid, low class, beneath notice, etc. In case you don't know, I'm a North Ender.

Pinstripe, the Police Volunteers I know are NOT "Space Cadets" or kids. They're adults that volunteer their time at the ministations and assist with things like traffic control during the Crim race.

That's very true but they sure are handy to have in case you encounter several of the gangbanger punks who think they do. Shocked

Better to have it and never need it than to need it and not have it.

Twotap, I must agree with you there Laughing You used the right word
PUNKS. I do not mind encountering multis at one time, due to the
fact that once I bust a cap in the loudest mouth the rest will run.
Here in Detroit I carry a concealed Weapon Permit, and that allows
me to carry my weapon anywhere in the State of Michigan.

Out of my 20 years with this permit I have only fired it three times,
but never killed anyone who was innocent, and I have wounded a
few Punks because I feel that its better them then me. Also Dave,
thanks for breaking the facts down to Back Again.

Dave, I do hope that all those volunteers do is paper work at
the ministation, and not go after these coward ass Punks on
the North End. without a weapon. Maybe one day during my passing through in Flint I might check them out, and maybe shake their hands
for being Brave.

In closing, I love to watch reruns of Charles Bronson, and he reminds
me of myself if I had to react. But the only differences is I would NOT
run after I had busted a cap in someone's ass for f**king with my
Family, Friends, or Me. Cool

Wow!!! I have carried for 20 years also and never busted a cap on any punks ass as of yet. Apparently you are running in a different more dangerous environment than myself, or you go looking for trouble. By the way you might want to check on that carry anywhere cause unless you are law enforcement their are several "GUNFREE' (the libs favorite term) zones where you can be arrested for carrying your piece. Try Schools, Hospitals, Bars. for starters. Of course since these are "GUNFREE" zones no need to worry cause the punks will abide by the same dumbass rules. Rolling Eyes

Twotap. My professional job requires me to go into homes to
rescue abused & neglected Children. My weapon permit was
issued to me by my employer (The State of Michigan) to
carry my weapon where ever I go, but it is MY responsibility
to handle my attitude and behavior in a professional manner
at all times, and being a Child Protection investigator my life
is always in danger.

I do not believe in busting a cap in someones ass just
because I am authorized to carry a weapon. Okay Two
here is a bit of street game. Most punks have access to
Saturday Night Specials meaning that they can get a
weapon, but if they use that weapon they have to throw
it away, and there is no way that they are covered by
the same rules that apply to me.

In Closing, a GUNFREE ZONE in a School area applies to
the Students being guns to School, or punks hanging
around Schools with weapons. Got It Two?

As an employee of the State, maybe yo can carry a pistol into a school. As a private citizen, with a CPL, I can NOT carry my pistol into a school.

The issue is how do we reverse generations of improper parenting. When these kids are using guns it is a learned behavior. I know I have arrested dads, uncles, and brothers in the same family for gun crimes. It always amazes me that someone will kill someone for being "disrespected".

I know this is a quick fix but it seemed to work. When we had a staffed police force with a city jail the crime was dropping. There was only 7 homicides prior to the layoff's. The homicides shot through the roof after the layoff's. I can't remember the exact number but I know there was about 20 for the six months after the layoff's. I like the New York theory, put a cop on every corner. It is easier to do this, over teaching people on how to be a proper parent. I agree this is a temporary fix, there has to be a community involvement as well.

Maninsuit- "due to the fact that the cops might have said...oh well
the Rev is one negro that we won't have to worrie about any
more...pass the beer."

I hope this was said as a joke. I know cops will try to group together homicide victims as "dope boys". I feel this is done as a way to cope with all of the violent crimes cops have to see. If I tried to think about every homicide victims family it would drive all of us crazy. At no time have I heard an officer regard a homicide victim as a dead negro. As a white officer I have been called a white boy, panky, cracker, you name I have heard it. That is the only racial slurs that I have heard. A violent crime has nothing to do with race, it effects every race there is. This is also a city wide issue not just the north end. When we, as a city get over the race and location thing, then maybe we can do something about this crime plague we are facing. We need to come together as a city. The Rev. was a good man, no officer can debate that. He was an example for the rest of us to follow.
