They want to see if the residents will take care of all the grass the land bank owns.

One of the Genesee Institute publications shows sample grass or no grass cutting depending on location and residential density.

Torro and a lawncare company donated 2 years worth of equipment and weed killer and furtilizer to the project. I feel it's part of a slight of hand they are trying to sell the the residents of Metawanene Hills. Here is what they forcast it will look like in the future.

This plan involves more than the existing park. There is vacant lans south of the park now and some homes before you get to wood street.

I know, which is mostly either landbank or salem housing land. That or they are in the proccess of gathering it. There are a few hold outs they are going to try and either buy out or force to move i guess. I have talked to two of the hold outs almost everyday, They aren't moving.

From my understanding the MSU team is going to try and do the whole block all the way to wood on what ever empty property there is. Might have been more of the bait and switch though.

I think our MNHA co-chair pimped out the land to an exsisting project that was in need of land and then sold us on the idea this was going to turn this into this wonderous park. Only catch is who's going to build the park? I think the way most of the regular people thought was one was going to naturaly follow the other. It wasn't until our last meeting when hardly no one got invited that they unvailed this $10k flyer of what MNH could look like in the future. I started to question the whole idea and that's when I found out even with some grant and Fed money this would have to come out of the pockets of us the neighbors too. I think before this meeting the other neighbors were under the impression Hurley and Whaley and MSU were floating the bill.

I personaly feel this is a sales ad on what investers can get after they knock everything down and force all the hangers on out in my hood. Again that's why I'm not down with this whole historic hook up they are trying to get over here. Don't get me wrong, I'd love to have this park. I'd also love to have the blight gone. But you have to do all this first before you try and make this a historic area.

Does anyone realize that they are trying to start a new historic district in Lynne Waybrights neighborhood?

Lynn was part of the original group that met but the leadership began to cut out people that might object to their plans. This was supposed to involve community input, but at some point much of the community was left out.

Word on the street is large pockets of money are coming into Flint and this group and Salem are making the plans to spend it.

Like Gooch has mentioned, that group is very selective about who gets invited to their meetings.

32 million? Are some people out shopping for clothes with bigger pockets?
