FLINT, Michigan — International Academy of Flint is listed in U.S. News & World Report as one of the nation’s top performing high schools.
It’s the third straight year the charter school, 2820 S. Saginaw St., has received a Bronze Medal award in the magazine’s annual America’s Best High Schools report. The report is available in the magazine’s January issue.
The magazine and School Evaluation Services pored over academic and enrollment data for more than 21,000 public high schools to list the nation’s top schools. In Michigan, one school received a Gold Medal award, 19 a Silver Medal and 55 school received, a Bronze Medal.
International Academy, a charter school that serves more than 1,100 students, opened in 1999.
“We have the best job in the world to teach our kids and provide the best learning environment and support to the community,” said Traci Cormier, the school’s administrator, in a news release. “To see we made the ranking as one of the nation’s best performing high schools for the third straight year was amazing and such a source of pride for our teachers, board members, parents, staff and more importantly our students.”

I know. It was just kind of funny that you spelled it wrong in reference to how good the school was doing.
(I'm not really a spelling cop. That one just got me. Sorry.) |
