The city ran out of money for lanscaping in the previous Mott Foundation grant for infrastructure in phase 2 of University Park. The money ran out when it came to the back section where the housing faces the Burnash concrete crushing plant.
Lynn Waybright was instrumental in bringing in the MDEQ to begin the nuisance abatement process of the concrete crusher. Burnash told residents that he was there first and they should not have built there. The city should have resolved this issue before building. The noise and concrete dust was horrendous. Also children on bikes were observed riding in the open facility during the summer.
The city on Monday will accept the Mott Foundation grant of$147,688 to complete the landscaping issues. |
