Topic: Honest mistake, or keeping the public in the dark?

If you go to the city's web site & look at the agenda for the March 3 finance committee meeting, you'll see the Feb. 3 agenda. Like the header says, an honest mistake, or trying to keep the public in the dark? The way things are going at city hall lately, it makes a person wonder.

Council staff no longer posts the minutes. This has happened before about the incorrect agenda. However, the last time it was about 8 months off.

Minutes are important because we are always dealing with addons, resolutions brought to council at the last minute. i am not sure if those addons are reflected in the legal news publications.

Without the minutes there is no true transparency .

It's nice to have a copy of the agenda without going to city hall to pick one up & see if there's anything coming up that's worth going to the meeting for. And, like webs said, there's always add-ons that only the minutes cover. Minutes haven't been posted in months, so even if you attend a meeting, there's no written record available to the public. I believe a record of the meeting - minutes - is mandated by law. If someone types a copy, it shouldn't take more than 10 minutes to convert it to a PDF file & link to it on the city's web site. IIRC, webs has mentioned that the agendas & minutes have been printed in the legal news. If so, that's even less excuse for not making them available to the public.

Munnbreslin, I DO go to council & committee meetings; do you? Do you even live in Flint?

Munnbreslin lives in Atlas and says he is a student. He obviously supports Walling.

And you should be able to tell that several of us attend council. so who is the Atlas jerk that doesn't have a frigging brain.

I beleive munnbreslin's avatar is shown incorrectly. I think the cape is really pulled over his head, because he doesn't seem to see the facts or hear anything that anyone else is saying. He's in the dark as much as Walling. It's pretty dark and smelly up there, isn't it Munnbreslin? I'm curious, is there enough room for both you and Walling up there?

Hmmmm or, and here's an idea, do I look at what we call both sides of an issue and then determine my position. I have stated a good ten times that these layoffs of police are way out of line, and I'd give Dayne a C at best, but Flint's biggest crippling factor is its unions by far. To them, a "reasonable wage" is an amazing pay for other jobs. They need to take a basic economics class and learn how income and revenue operate. A city with 112,000 people cannot operate like a city with 196,000 people, it just doesent work. And who says I still live in Atlas? I was unaware that I had to post my adress changes to this forum. My deepest apologies for keeping you all in the dark. It was probably an elaborate conspiracy on my part huh? Man I'm just like that Walling guy, probably spawn of satan or something.

munnbreslin,

You finally made me laugh. I make a comment about your avatar having the cape pulled over his head, and now you have changed your avatar. LOL

Beleive it or not, over the years, I have actually voted for a couple of Libertarian candidates. I thought they were the best candidates in their race. I vote for the politician, not the party.

Personally, I don't care if you live in Atlas, or what color or race you are, whether or not you're a democrat or a republican or some other political affiliation. What I care about is what you have to say. That's the great thing about this country, we have the freedom to disagree.
