I've been told that the Mayor will have a get together at Ballenger Field House,Mott College Sat April 24 2010, to brainstorm ect. ect, make Flint vibrant ect. ect. ,growing, unparalleled meeting ect .If you have some ideas for him you may want to attend.I am sure some of you all have some ideas for him and what he can do to improve the City.Perhaps even a question or two.

nothing has been accomplished with the so-called action plans! I went to one of the second series and quickly realized the presenters had no clue about the ward and what applied to the ward. Citizens have expressed dissatifaction with the process and found it redundant.

Why wait until April 24 ? I have some ideas to improve Flint now ! Lets all plant flowers in the green spaces in front of our homes ( I prefer roses) so that the stench of two week old garbage ( especially this summer ) doesn't offend..
.Increase the speed limit to 75 in residential areas known for drive by shootings ( move quickly there's less chance of catching a stray ) .
Or just turn out the lights at City Hall and have everyone go home.Think of the savings.

At the meeting at the library, the 5th ward "facilitator" admitted she had never lived in the ward & knew nothing about it. The meetings at Doyle/Rider and Hurley were simply rehashes of the meeting at the library. Absolutely nothing constructive was accomplished.
Except for Paul Herring haranguing me when I asked councilman Lawler what the deal was with the block club "registrations", that is.

From the City of Flint's website cityofflint.com:

"Flint Mayor Dayne Walling will host a citywide neighborhood action and public safety summit. The summit will be held Saturday, April 24, 2010 at Ballenger Field House on the campus of Mott Community College from 8:30am until 12:00 Noon

The purpose of the summit is to inform residents of the priorities that were identified during Neighborhood Action Phases I and II. More than 300 action items were developed during these phases. Mayor Walling and his staff will outline the plan for implementing the action items and discuss how these items will help guide the deployment of limited city resources."
