21-year-old man arrested and charged with murder, assault with intent to murder; also a 'person of interest' in double homicide

FLINT, Michigan — Flint Police arrested a 21-year-old Flint man in connection with an August homicide and a critical shooting. The man also was identified as a person of interest in a November double homicide.
Stanley L. Smith Jr. is charged with an open count of murder in the slaying of Quantrell Jamerson, 26, who was shot Aug. 5 on North Stevenson Street near Dupont Street, according to the Genesee County Prosecutor's Office. He died Aug. 13.
Smith also is charged with assault with intent to murder in the Aug. 27 shooting of Marcus D. Fowlkes, 32, according to the prosecutor's office. Fowlkes was shot on Wolcott Street near Flushing Road. He was in critical condition, but survived the incident.
Smith was named as a person of interest in the Nov. 13 double homicide of 27-year-old Martarien Wilson and 15-year-old Porsche Turner at a home on Kearsley Park Boulevard on Flint's eastside. Smith has not been charged with anything pertaining to this case, according to the prosecutor's office. |
