Hmmmmm, pope got twice with a 9mm and lived. Now had it been a 1911A1 loaded with 240gr slug traveling at 840 feet per second, well the pope wouldn't had a prayer. Pardon the pun. Only reason u.s. military went to the 9 is because It's a NATO round and ammo would be easy to get if need be. BUT If the pope had been hit with a good +p or +p+ 9mm HP it would have been very bad for him. and all this ya only need one shot of this handgun round to end the fight is crap. Anyone worth shooting is worth shooting more than once. And of course we all know our troops are saddled with that stupid Geneva convention crap that limits them to FMJ. By the way that "if the pope had been hit round" would likely have been 230gr not 240. were not talking 44mag here.
