Topic: Will Fay Hall be demolished?

A growing number of supporters of historic buildings are afraid the historic Fay Hall on the Michigan School of the Deaf will fall to the demolition ball. They have been told that a long time water leak has damaged portions of the building, possibly beyond repair, a;lthough they dispute that claim.

In order to give the property a state historic designation, these supporters of Fay Hall must have the approval of the property owners, White and Lurvey.

Meanwhile there is little that can be done except to watch and wait.

The building is truly beautiful and was renovated at one time to accomadate the Valley School, when it was housed there.

I am told that roof leaks have wrecked havoc on some portions of the building. The first floor has much marble and other pleasing aesthetic features.
