ORDINANCE NO.
An ordinance to amend Chapter 31,
Article I, of the Flint City Code of
Ordinances by repealing Section 31-14,
Begging or Panhandling.
IT IS HEREBY ORDAINED BY THE
PEOPLE OF THE CITY OF FLINT:
Sec. 1. That the Flint City Code of
Ordinances shall be amended by amending
Chapter 31, Article I, by repealing Section
3 1-14, Begging or Panhandling, which shall
read in its entirety as follows
:

§ 3111 BEGGING ORPANHANDLINC.
It-shall ho unlawful to go about from
person to person or from place to place,
soliciting contributions for oneself or others;
provided, however, that soliciting of
charitable contributions pursuant to a permit
issued by the City Clorlc is not prohibited.

I received some calls today that seniors going to City hall to pay their water bills were acosted, both inside and outside of City Hall, by panhandlers. They were outraged to put it mildly! |

There is a new no loitering sign on the front door of city hall. However, wih no one to enforce it, it really is a moot point. |
