Topic: No more thank heaven for 7-11

In the last week at least three seven eleven stores have pulled their signs down. The store at Flushing and Chevrolet is now University market. The Atherton Road store near Broome Park is shuttered and up for sale. The store at Dort and Eldon Baker has no signs but is open.


The franchisee at the Flushing Road store told me about six months ago that many stores would be closing but he seemed surprised as the truck pulled and took the signs.

In June of this year the Grand rapids newspapers warned of a potential closing of several area 7-11 stores. The arrangement was said to be part of an agreement between the seven elevens and Garb Ko, who owns many stores.
